While America has deep divisions and has for a long time, there are things that 90% of the country can agree on. It may be a small thing to decide on, or something more fundamental, but it’s given people hope that someday our country will be able to come together when times are hard.
The President’s Honesty

While many people don’t agree on who should be in office, with many supporting Trump and just as many not liking that he’s in office, people agree on one thing. The president of our country should always tell the truth and act with integrity and honesty, keeping the people in mind as they serve.
God’s Existence

Studies have suggested that 95% of our country believes that God exists and is an important issue. They differ in who they think God is or what they believe a higher power is. Spirituality and having a set belief system are important to people, and as such, they’ve spawned thousands of conversations.
Health Care

Another controversial issue is health care, but many Americans agree that it should be more affordable, and the government should help. Many people face the issue of not having health insurance because they can’t afford it, but they also don’t qualify for free health care, meaning they don’t go to the doctor at all. If the government could help more, it’s believed more people could get help.
Get A Background Check

Americans agree that guns can protect people. However, many aren’t happy about everyone having access to dangerous weapons. Studies have shown that most Americans agree that everyone who owns a gun should have a gun license and be required to undergo a background check to ensure that it’s not going to someone who shouldn’t have one.
Internet

Another thing most Americans have in common? A love for the Internet. You’ll find that people spend hours on their phones using the Internet for social media and much more. Less than 10% of the country has admitted they’ve never been online and the other 90% has admitted that they’ve spent hundreds of hours online when they should have been doing other things.
Importance Of Family

Family is an integral part of our lives, and Americans have long since begun to prioritize spending time with loved ones and trying to create a strong home life for their children. While many people are working two or more jobs, it can be hard to find time for family togetherness, but people are trying.
Raising Rent

If you’re renting, you’ve probably experienced your landlord spiking the rent by $500 and telling you there’s nothing you can do about it. When it happens, it’s scary because you wonder what you can do and then struggle to make the rent payment. Americans think it’s unfair that they can do this, and agree that there should be policies in place to protect us from this happening.
Inflation

While some have said they’re not worried about inflation making things more complicated, the vast majority of the country would disagree. Inflation is making it almost impossible to buy groceries or other necessities and families are having to decide if they want water or vegetables, toilet paper or necessary hygiene products. The country isn’t liking inflation because they don’t think it’s fair to have to make these decisions.
Teachers

Teachers don’t get paid well, and many of them are taking money out of their own pockets so that they can help ensure that their classroom has enough supplies. This means that most teachers are choosing between eating and helping children. The media has even covered this to see what people would do if they saw a teacher struggling. Our country agrees that teachers deserve better than what they get and has shown that they would step up if needed.
Racism

More than 90% of our country agrees that racism is still an issue and that something needs to be done. Actors, activists, and others have come out with inspiring speeches on the topic, motivating people to move beyond horrible behavior and toward peace. Thousands have fought for freedom and fair treatment, and we are moving toward a time when we all simply care about each other without hurting one another.
Cheating

Unfortunately, many people cheat. However, the vast majority of our country believes that cheating is never acceptable and that you should do the honorable thing and break up with the person first so that you save them the pain you’re going to cause later. Less than 2% thought that dishonesty and sleeping with multiple people while committed was a good thing.
We’re Not Boring

While many Americans admit that they feel bored sometimes, most agree that their life can be exciting, even though we’re stuck in our routines. Overall, many agree that they don’t consider themselves or their lifestyle to be boring. Instead, they just want a break from their routine, but most can’t afford to go anywhere or do something different.
Marriage

Studies have suggested that more than 90% of Americans think marriage is important, and that they have a happy one. While people may not be happy all the time, they say that overall, they consider their marriage to be in a good place and that they’re satisfied with their life, with the future of their relationship looking bright.
Job Satisfaction

Truth be told, many people aren’t working their dream job, and that’s unfortunate. However, most have said that they do find satisfaction in their work. Studies have shown that different fields have vastly different satisfaction rates, but overall, polls indicate that we see positivity in our work and have confidence in our job security.
Mostly Proud

While there are things that we’re not proud of, many people have said that they’re pleased to be Americans, at least on some level. However, the number of people who are proud of our country is declining. The number used to be 90%, but now it’s below 70% and dropping.
Do You Agree?

Did the areas on this list surprise you? Is there an area that Americans should agree on more? It’s interesting to see what people agree on and the topics that people disagree on. Hopefully, in the future, our country will solve its issues and come together, addressing the problems that still plague us.
