15 Bible Verses That Are Always Available to You in Times of Trouble

Sometimes, life gets a little too hard, and no amount of breathing exercises or mindful meditations can quell the worries at bay. During these times of uncertainty, we may need a little push from Above to get going. Fortunately, He can always be reached through this one phone book we call the Bible through these 15 “speed dials” in the form of verses for when we need comfort, guidance, and everything in between.

Isaiah 41:10 For When You Feel Alone

During times of fear and uncertainty, it’s very easy to feel like it’s us against the world. When we feel like this, He wants us to know that we’re wrong—we’re not alone. He is with us, and if we just accept His hand, we will be led to where we shall be.

Psalm 46:1-3 For When You Feel Unsupported

It’s inevitable for us to feel weak and fall apart sometimes. During this time, He reminds us that we can lean on Him. He will be our safe haven whenever we’re troubled, lost, or afraid. Just like what it says in the verse, the earth may crumble, but we will still have a home—Him.

Matthew 11:28 For When You Feel Restless

Whether it be through our jobs, relationships, finances, or family, life’s challenges come in many ways. It’s easy to get swayed by the current and lose grip of ourselves. During these adversities, He tells us that whenever we feel tired, we can always rely on and share the burden with Him. He is our rest; all we need to do is call out to Him.

Psalm 23:4 For When You Feel Afraid

Fear is a normal emotion to feel, but that shouldn’t stop us from moving forward. When we’re afraid, it’s often because of the lurking uncertainty and looming despair we encounter in life. But we should muster the courage to still walk through the darkness because He is with us, and His light will shine our path if we ask.

Philippians 4:7 For When You’re Anxious

When problems arise, especially those we haven’t encountered before, it’s very easy to lose sleep worrying. We can think about our hardships throughout the night, but they will never feel lighter because worrying does not solve problems—only prayers do. This is why we should trust Him with our troubles, and only then will we have peace.

Philippians 4:19 For When You’re Financially Struggling

They say, “Money is the root of all evil,” and maybe they’re right. During the reign of capitalism and greed, it’s only natural for us to worry about our finances. But we shouldn’t obsess over material possessions because He will always provide us with what we need. He is our ultimate provider, and if we ask for His help, He will enrich us with things we didn’t even know we needed.

Proverbs 22:7 For When You Need Financial Guidance

One simple mistake can lead one to poverty, that’s why it’s important to think carefully before making any rash decision about finances. When in need of such advice, we can always turn to Him. Through this scripture, He’s telling us to be more wise and disciplined with our money and to steer clear of excessive borrowing because it yields nothing but harm.

Proverbs 15:1 For When You Don’t Know How to Respond

Miscommunication is one of the main problems of familial, romantic, and platonic relationships because sometimes, our emotions get the best of us. In the end, we say things we don’t mean or not say anything at all. He tells us that whenever we feel this way, we should always choose patience and kindness. After all, conflicts shouldn’t always lead to goodbyes.

2 Timothy 1:7 For When You Lack Courage

Being courageous in times of adversity is one of the hardest things to achieve. Fear looms over us every day, and He wants to tell us through this verse that He only gave us power, love, and autonomy, and it’s up to us what to do with them. That’s why when we’re frightened, we should remind ourselves that we have God’s power within us—we should choose to empower ourselves rather than to despair.

James 1:5 For When You Need Wisdom

When at crossroads, there’s no absolute way to know which the right way is. This is why it’s very easy to choose wrongly without proper guidance. This scripture lets us know that He can provide us the wisdom that we seek only if we call out to Him. When in doubt, we can always pray for discernment, and we shall have it.

Psalm 139:13-14 For When You Struggle With Self-Worth

All of us struggle with insecurity one way or another—it’s entirely normal. But when we continuously bring ourselves down because of it, He will have to oppose us. He had intended us to turn out beautiful, purposeful, and similar to Him, that’s why thinking less of ourselves is an insult to Him. This verse lets us know that we all have a unique purpose and are created by Him, so we should love ourselves as much as He does.

2 Corinthians 5:17 For When You Seek Forgiveness for Yourself

We all make mistakes and fail at things we think are important. Lapses of judgment are common, that’s why we have to learn how to forgive ourselves for our past mistakes. This scripture makes us realize that every day is a new opportunity to start fresh because even if you don’t believe in it, He gives second chances, for He believes we deserve it—you deserve it.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 For When You Want to Know About Love

He gave us love, but it’s up to us how to define, give, and receive it. All relationships that we form, whether they’re romantic, platonic, or familial, should be filled with love. But sometimes, the complexity of it blurs its definition, so if we ever need a refresher, we can always turn to Him and His words.

Ephesians 5:25 For When You’re Rethinking Your Commitment to Your Spouse

While 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 reminds us what love is, this verse retells the reason for commitment. Love is as sacrificial as it is enduring, just like how He gave everything up for us. This should especially be true in committed relationships because the healthy ones should be selfless and caring. If a relationship no longer reflects that, it may be time to call out to Him and reflect on the reason behind the vows.

Jeremiah 29:11 For When You Feel Like All Hope is Lost

Some things that happen oftentimes don’t make sense, but He is telling us through this verse that it may not make sense now, but it will soon. There is a quote that says, “A rejection is just a redirection,” and this is particularly true with this verse. He may have spared us one thing to give us something better. He has a plan and a purpose for everything; we just have to trust Him. It doesn’t feel like it now, but it will… soon.
