10 Remarkable Historical Periods That Changed What Came After

The Earth has been around for a long time. History has fascinated people for just as long. Different periods offer different fascinations, and each one offers a unique perspective on the way people saw the world. We saw the rise and fall of empires and people who are still talked about today. Here are our thoughts on the best historical periods.

The Roman Empire

The Roman Empire has fascinated people for centuries because of its achievements. There were brave generals, heroes, villains, and brutal wars. The architecture was beautiful and would make any modern person stop and stare in stunned silence. The clothing was beautiful, and they expanded their territories far across the Mediterranean.

The Crusades

The Crusades spanned around two hundred years, and they were a series of both military and religious campaigns by Christians to reclaim the Holy Land. The Crusades impacted political alliances, trade, and cultural exchange, but they also highlighted when religion began to come into play more seriously. The loss of lives was a tragic turning point in history.

Sengoku Period

This was during the 15th to 17th centuries. At the time, Japan was having almost continuous military conflict between daimyos. The fighting seemed to go on forever. When it was finally over, Japan was unified under Tokugawa. It led to stability and peace for the people. It was a long time coming, and the people were happy.

Age Of Enlightenment

One of the most talked-about movements in history. This was a movement where science, reason, individualism, and more freedoms were available. Famous thinkers also came out of this era. Locke and Rousseau questioned authority, and they were able to influence revolutions. The art was breathtaking, and philosophy was at an all-time high.

Kongo

A long period of time that lasted five hundred years, it shows a kingdom that was a major trader network, had established religion and traditions, and survived for years without being ruled by Europe. They did have issues with Portuguese sailors stealing their people to be slaves, and fought three wars with them during this period. There was also competition for the throne and fights from invaders.

19th Century Britain

This period is also known as the Victorian era. Under Queen Victoria’s rule, industrialization, social reforms, and colonial expansion were prominent here. The clothing was amazing, and there was a vast increase in production. Unfortunately, this meant that children worked in the factories all day. While etiquette rules were extremely strict, many new laws were put in place.

Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt lasted for centuries. It became known for its queens and pharaohs, the incredible architecture, and the people’s dedication to their beliefs. Egypt was also home to one of the world’s biggest libraries (though a great deal of it was destroyed), and unique innovations in math and science. It’s long been said that this time period is surrounded with mystery and an interesting history that won’t ever fade.

Renaissance

Another great period in history spanning three centuries. It brought a revival in both art and science as well as the expansion of humanism. Key artists were known throughout this period, including Leonardo da Vinci. It’s one of the most famous time periods that we know of today, and creativity thrived in a way it hadn’t before.

Middle Ages

The Middle Ages followed the Roman Empire’s fall and entered the Renaissance. Monarchies rose during this time, and the influence of the Christian Churches spread across Europe. Despite what you see in the movies, the Middle Ages was a time when universities became widespread, and many facets of education flourished.

The 1920s

Also known as the Roaring Twenties, this was a decade of music, economic growth, and culture. Not only had the war ended, but New York was also experiencing the Harlem Renaissance, and more people were finally getting the chance to have a voice. It was a time of inspiration and the chance to make an impact on the world where they couldn’t before.
